Standards Against Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation

These standards apply to OpenChat (oc.app) and are maintained by OpenChat Labs Ltd, which performs trust & safety functions for the platform.

Prohibition

Child sexual abuse and exploitation ("CSAE") of any kind is strictly prohibited on OpenChat. This includes child sexual abuse material ("CSAM"), content that sexualises children in any way, grooming, sextortion, the trafficking of children, and any other conduct that harms or exploits a child. Pornographic content of any kind is prohibited on all parts of the platform for all users.

Enforcement

• Suspected CSAM is removed immediately upon detection or report, and the sending account is suspended.
• Detected CSAM is preserved as evidence in access-restricted storage for the period required by law, and reported to the relevant authorities — including the UK National Crime Agency and/or the US National Center for Missing and Exploited Children — as required by applicable law.
• Content moderation combines automated classification of public content with human review of moderation decisions.
• We comply with applicable child safety laws, including the UK Online Safety Act 2023 and its CSEA content reporting duty.

Reporting within the app

Any user can report any message from within OpenChat: select the message and choose Report. Reports are reviewed and acted on by the platform's moderators. Safety concerns can also be raised out-of-app via the contact below.
